SOS in the sky?

On september the 28. 2007 at app. 14:00 UTC I was driving from Runde on the north west coast of Norway. It was the first bautiful day after several weeks of continuing rain.

I glanced up at the sky and noticed a strange phenomenon; a ring-shaped cloud. I stopped, went out of the car and studied it. Then I noticed that there was more to this:

At first I did not believe mye eyes, but I was pretty sure there was an S west of the O. And with a little good will You can see another S east of the ring. Does it say SOS, written with clouds, in the sky?

My first reaction was a broad grin: now the HAARP-boys are begging for anyone to save their souls! But by closer inspection there are more to this than the letters. We are located a short distance south of an airport and the wind was blowing from the north. Could this be trails left by a plane in a holding pattern?

I sendt the uncut image to a few friends and they all saw different figures and shapes in these clouds. Studying the image below, what do You see?


Does anyone out there have a simple explenation of this observation? What is this? I have a really hard time believing this is something randomly produced by nature itself......
